About Viatris
Viatris is a new kind of global healthcare company formed in 2020.
Our New Zealand head office is based in Auckland and we are headquartered in the U.S. with global centres in India and China and representation in 165 countries and territories. We have a global workforce of approximately 37,000 people and approximately 40 manufacturing sites.
With approximately 50 employees from all corners of the world including Asia, the Pacific and as far away as Brazil to name just a few, our New Zealand business is a prime example of our strong scientific, distribution, and regulatory expertise. Our robust medical and commercial capabilities enable us to deliver high-quality medicines to patients when and where they need them.
All of our medicines we supply in New Zealand are manufactured within our global network including Australia.
Portfolio
Our aim is to bring new medicines to market and help make them affordable to New Zealanders. Our local capacity, supply chain and distribution network mean we are well placed to ensure our medicines are readily available to New Zealanders, wherever they are, when they need them.
Our global portfolio has more than 1,400 medicines across a broad range of therapeutic areas, spanning non-communicable and infectious diseases.
Our diverse portfolio delivers trusted, quality medicines that treat nine out of ten of the World Health Organisations' (WHO) leading causes of death with many of our medicines on the WHO Essential Medicines List.
We have a broad portfolio in New Zealand with over 475 registered products. These include key innovation products, prescription and OTC medicines - both branded and generics. In addition we are a leading supplier of medicines that are funded on the Pharmaceutical Schedule.
Leadership
We promote health policy discussion in New Zealand that recognises the importance of scientific innovation, as well as the need to make medicines affordable and accessible to patients who need them. We believe it’s important to contribute to ongoing debate to help shape the health system we want for the future.
Partnership
We work with doctors, pharmacists, health professional organisations, the Ministry of Health, PHARMAC and patient groups to help bring affordable high-quality medicines to New Zealand and support education on their appropriate use.
Resources
We believe in supporting patients with more than our medicines alone, initiatives include:
- MyEpiPen® support program
The program includes reminders to prompt patients to renew their EpiPen® Auto-Injectors. We also provide free training kits and devices to help patients become more confident in using their devices in an emergency. - Patient Information brochures
We provide a large range of patient materials for many of the medicines that we supply to NZ patients.
